  Die Gleichrichterröhre liegt ja nicht im Signalweg, deshalb habe ich mir auch keine großen Auswirkungen auf den Sound versprochen. Aber ich wurde eines besseren belehrt. Noch wärmerer und vollerer Ton, bei akkuraten Bässen und offenen, detailreichen Höhen mit sehr guter Staffelung und Räumlichkeit, mit einem feinen 'glitzern' in den oberen Mitten und Höhen. Optisch ist die Röhre natürlich ein Hingucker (insbesondere in Verbindung mit den 'EML 300B-XLS') und auch von der Verarbeitung bestimmt nicht zu übertreffen. Vielen Dank auch an Jac, für die absolut professionelle Abwicklung!

  Hallo Jac, die Röhren sind wohlbehalten angekommen und haben die ersten Stunden hinter sich. Optisch sind die EML300B-XLS natürlich ein Leckerbissen, auch klanglich das beste, was ich bisher an 300B´s gehört habe, (und das waren schon viele), obwohl sie noch nicht einmal eingespielt sind! Optimal war der Kontakt, und die absolut professionelle Abwicklung. Schade das ich die Seite erst jetzt gefunden habe.   Hello Jac. I have just listened to your 274A with mesh anodes. It is a magnificent tube! I have compared it against my reference Telefunken RGN4004 with black mesh anodes. Although brand new it is quite close and hour by hour it gets even better! I would like to ask you if you have any news regarding the version that you were about to release, the replica of the exotic Telefunken RGN4004.   Hello JAC, What offers me to say after 300 hours of listening. Music through the EML 45 GLOBE is an alive, organic and vibrating entity. I do not have the sensation to be listening to reproduced music as it’s so real and natural. I often found myself having a greater pleasure than the one reached in a concert hall. And the secular dimension of music is entirely preserved. How human is the human voice! How evident is the difference between a Stradivarius and a Guarnerius del Gesù! How clearly a Bösendorfer demarcates from a Steinway! But what is a body without soul? That I feel in full when the EML 45 GLOBE carries me to a dimension from beyond when listening to a Bach’s Cantata. Blessed hands those that carried out the task to bring up this master piece of art.   Hallo Jac. Das war der Superservice.: 24 Stunden nach der Bestellung waren die perfect verpackten Röhren Emissionlab: 520B-V3 schon da. Habe sie gleich eingebaut . Nach der Ruhestromeinstellung (Ug-108volt bei Ua=500V)laufen die Endstufen seit 2Tagen absolut stabil. Dank Deiner Selection ist der Ruhestromunterschied kleiner 1% !!! Der Wikungsgrad dieser Trioden ist ja deutlich besser als die erwarteten 25%. Bei genau 50Watt Anodenverlustleistung erreiche ich 17 !!! Watt unverzerrt. Das entspricht ca: 33% Wirkungsgrad. Auch für deine geduldige Beratung zum Thema: 'Brummen in Endstufen' bedanke ich mich ganz herzlich. Gratuliere zu Deiner kompetenten und liebevoll gepflegten Webseite.   Wer voher schon alles hatte und das Fenster zur richtigen Musik sucht, ist mit diesen Röhren am Ende an gekommen. Über den Klang zu reden wäre jetzt falsch. Jeder hört anders. Was mir aufegefallen ist , dass das Klangbild extrem natürlich und holographisch ist. Der Bass ist wunderbar strukturiert und Stimmen haben genau die Autorität die ich so liebe. Ich bin total glücklich und froh mich für diese Röhren entschieden zu haben. Danke Jac deinen super Service. Einspielen , einspielen , einspielen. Nach einiger Zeit wird man mit einem Klang bereichert den ich als Suchtstoff bezeichnen würde. Lange Nächte mit guter Musik sind gesichert. Für mich haben die Röhren den gewissen Rotweinfaktor, sogar im dunklen wird man belohnt. Im gegensatz zu anderen 300 B Röhren leuchten diese sogar wunder schön. Freue mich nun auf viele schöne Stunden mit guter Musik und einer 300 B Magie die ich voher nicht kannte ......

  Я хочу рассказать о лампах EML 300B-XLS. Прежде всего спасибо Jac за быструю посылку и правильную её декларацию, спасибо! После 5 часового прогрева ламп я послушал их звук предвзято. Звуку не хватало блеска, жизни и весомости. Проведя параллель с обычными 300В, которые на максимальной мощности рассеяния звучат более полнокровно, я подумал поднять ток покоя тестируемых ламп до 100мА, просто подняв напряжение на аноде лампы. Мощность рассеяния поднялась почти до рекомендуемой для этой лампы. Звук преобразился в лучшую сторону многократно. От обычной 300В его отличают отсутствие характерной для 300В окраски по всему диапазону, более натуральные тембры инстрементов, ожившая настоящая открытая сцена, и самое главное - б'ольшая выходная мощность, недостижимая для обычной 300В. Глубина сцены стала менее хай-эндная, те в глубину она стала меньше, зато музыканты стали менее виртуальными, они расселись перед слушателем(при этом звук шёл не из АС). Правда EML грубо обходилисть с мелкими подробностями и штрихами музыки и баса было маловато, возможно с прогревом это изменится. Для серийного усилителя, где невозможно изменить режимы выходной лампы в большую сторону, я бы выбрал обычные EML 300B. А если блок питания и выходной трансформатор позволяет поднять ток, а ещё лучше и напряжение выходного каскада, можно получить с EML 300B-XLS 15-18 ватт выходной мощности, не применяя, например 211 лампу. В заключении скажу, что если выбирать между разными лампами этой ценовой категории, EML - вне конкуренции, тк их звук более открытый, с правильными тембрами, более современный в хорошем смыле слова.

(frequency 3000-5000, Hz. Power 10-15%) To use on a tube 300BXLS or it is better 300B-mesh ? 2) Middle frequency. (frequency 200-500 up to 3000-5000 , Hz.   Lieber Jac wie versprochen der Bericht von den Lundahl,s und der 2A3 Emissionslab Röhren . der Austausch von Transformer und Röhre ist ein Erlebnis von ganz grossem Gewinn an Musikalität und Ausdruck . In Worten kaum zu beschreiben, aber es ist nur zu empfehlen , um der Musik ein grosses Stück näher zu kommen , eine Zunahme von Dynamik , Räumliche Abbildung und Natürlichkeit wie ich sie nie zuvor erlebt habe , sind die folgen davon.   I have found your site very informative and I wish to tell that information from the site were very valuable for me to make a choice for the valves ordered. I really apreciated it. Good reply, when I asked: do the valves need a working period before to give their best performances? If yes how long time? His answer... In the beginning the new valves sound not at it's best. You need to break them in about 50 hours, under normal use. So not 50 hours at one piece, but normally a few hours every day. They need the warm and cold too. Like a new car engine, basics are the same. The easier you burn them in, the better they will be. No high loudness the first 50 hours. Good luck with them.

Wer grad am zweifeln ist, ob denn so viel Geld für ne Gleichrichterröhre sein muß, dem kann ich nur raten die Hosentaschen nach außen zu krempeln und es auszuprobieren. Rein optisch sowiso ein Genuss, die 845 sieht im Größenvergleich wie Spielzeug aus. Klanglich absolut souverän, Danke Jac und Eml für diese Röhre!

  Jac, This started out as a few lines to thank you for the quick and professional service you provide, but has grown somewhat! Feel free to post this on your website if you wish. Based on observations in my test amp, the news regarding the Emission Labs ®520B's is rather good! Arriving in Australia packed like lab glassware, the 520B's quality of construction was immediately apparent, the rigid structure will ensure long-term stability. The filament top supports deserve mention, they seem well designed to avoid the filament sag that increases microphony and the parametric instability that can spell an early end of a DHT's useful life. Acoustic feedback and microphony are much reduced with the 520B's. How often do we spend time looking in the wrong place for an 'electronic' problem that lies elsewhere? A single 520B replaced two 300B's per channel in a single-ended development test amp. Operating point Ip, Va, Vc, etc were adjusted to suit the 520B. Despite having many different power supply, output and driver configurations over several years, this amp has never sounded as good as with the single 520B's. Initial listening delayed the serious business of test and measurement for far too long, as I could not believe how good these were straight out of the box. Most equipment, in my experience requires considerable adjustment before the sound 'sets' but these were so good and matched the environment so well from the outset. The behavior of the tubes, (initial stability of Ip etc) make it obvious that these really have been factory run-in, tested and accurately matched as claimed. I would suggest that constructors seriously consider the 520B's for similar applications, as among other factors outlined below, the load presented to the driver stage by the single 520B's is much easier to drive cleanly with a reasonably sized driver stage than multiple 300B or similar. In my test configuration, this results in much better sound at the frequency extremes, with simpler driver and interstage transformer matching networks. Initial testing confirmed that the 520B's Anode Impedance and Anode resistances would match the Lundahl output transformer's (LL1627 140mA) rather well, despite running at a conservative 130mA. Output is maintained without obscuring LF detail to a greater extent with the 520B's, as output transformer primary winding inductance falls with frequency. I would say the 520B makes very good use of the lower primary winding inductance and reduced parasitic capacitances of the LL1627..sometimes a higher ratio transformer can obscure the detail, but a lower ratio can load down a tube that should be capable of driving the load and there is no simple explanation, but here there is no such problem. The sound confirms this and I 'wasted' quite a bit of time just listening to the detail in some recordings that normally require careful attention. A more relaxed presentation with all the detail of an 'on the edge design' results, those who have struggled to perfect a design will know exactly what I mean. The sweet spot seems easy to hit. It easily passes the 'detail while washing dishes test'.. Square-wave testing is a good example of just how well behaved the 520B//LL1627 combination is. The 520B really grabs the attention, requiring very little fettling to get great results and not 'falling into a hole' when the power required increases, as so many tubes do. I did check my results twice, as I was sure a mistake had been made. Channel to Channel frequency response and gain matching was excellent and swapping tubes confirmed the tubes were pretty close (slight bias adjustment required). The driver stage and power supply must be excellent to take advantage of the transparency the 520B's confer, but these really shine if the rest of the amp is up to it. Serious listening has been a problem, as I found myself enjoying the music, rather than paying attention to the technical details (always a very good sign!) Die Klangqualität in meinem Kopfhörer-Verstärker, ein Woo Audio WA6 mit allen Upgrades des Herstellers, ist einfach phänomenal. Selbst kleinste 'Micro Informationen' werden hörbar und machen die Wiedergabe zu einem reinen Live-Erlebnis!   Hallo Jac, die EML ist gestern bereits eingetroffen! Vielen Dank für die schnelle und unkomplizierte Abwicklung. So eine schöne Röhre habe ich wirklich noch nie vorher in meinen Händen gehalten, absolut phantastisch. Genau so beeindruckend wie diese Röhre aussieht, so sind anscheinend auch ihre klanglichen Qualitäten. Ich habe so ziemlich alles an NOS Gleichrichterröhren durchprobiert. KEINE dieser NOS Röhren kann auch nur im Ansatz mit dieser EML-5U4GM mithalten und das wohlgemerkt nach ca. 10h Einspieldauer! Welche 300Bs als nächstes auf der Einkaufsliste stehen, diese Frage stellt sich mir jetzt nicht mehr ;) Hoffentlich gibt es genug Menschen, die diese aussergewöhnliche, handwerkliche Perfektion auch zu schätzen wissen.   The tubes arrived today, superfast delivery! My first impression was -they are so big!! and look so well built and heavy, thick glass and solid to the hand, they dwarf regular 300B´s. So I popped them in the amp and -VELVET!! soooo smooooth and they realy are as solid in sound as in build, sledgehammer bass -what a punch! wide mid´s and good detail at the high end to, I bet these are superb for playing loud. well that´s my first impression and I sure look forward to burn them in.   Dear Jac, many thanks for quick delivery under optimal conditions. I was very impressed by the quality and sound of the EML Mesh vacuum tubes. In my SE amp., they performed much better than the RCA NOS used before. In particular, precision, detail, extension (trebble)and dynamics, which resulted in a lifelike presentation of the music and voices. High precision also implies that optimal damping of vibrations is a must.The Yamamoto equipment stands with circular magnets are just perfect to fulfil these drastic requirements and they also look beautiful.   Hello Jac, Well these tubes are quite wonderful. I've been testing a number of 2a3's recently, trying to find the best for my system, including a pair of excellent 1940's RCA Cunningham single Anode and yours are by far the best I've tried. They're not just a bit better, they are vastly superior - in every area. The most amazing thing is the 3-dimensionality of the soundstage they produce, together with a quite marvellous musicality and quality of sound. They really are quite superb. I found they worked best in the pre-amp rather than the power amps, presumably because when in the pre, the power amps were amplifying a better quality signal rather than amplifying a not-as-good source when in the power amps. I would now like to buy another pair for the power amps, to complete the transformation. I'm after the 'new' dark-mesh ones for higher-power.   Hallo Jac, gestern habe ich die EML 2A3 erhalten. Vielen Dank! Ich habe noch nie zuvor eine Röhre in Händen gehalten, die derart viel Qualität ausstrahlt. Auch die Verpackung, welche die Röhre rundherum schützt, ist beispielhaft. Andere Hersteller wie JJ sollten sich daran orientieren. Ich hoffe, daß EML auch irgendwann die 5V4GA (Diese Röhre benötige ich für meine Verstärker, wie auch die 6SF5 Driver Triode) und auch Vorverstärker-Röhren (wie z.Bsp. die 6922, die läuft in meinem Vorverstärker) produzieren wird.   Hallo jac, We zijn nu 3 maanden verder, onze versterker staat elke dag 8...12 uur aan, dus veel uur verder. De buis zelf, staat heel relaxed ingesteld zo rond 35watt anodedissipatie. En dat is in combinatie met mijn luidsprekers meer dan genoeg, dus ik laat het verder zo. Waar ik een beetje bang voor was, een 'metalig geluid' met dergelijk stevig geconstrueerde buizen is niet uitgekomen. Het tegendeel! de EMLabs 300BXLS klinken heel erg mooi. Het geluid is: 'natuurlijk' en ragfijne details die ik nog niet ontdekt heb, met andere 300B's zijn hoorbaar. Wij hopen nog lang te kunnen genieten :-) Vriendelijke groet, Jack en Tineke

  Hi Jac Yesterday I tried the EML 300B-XLS you sent to me and found, even after only 2-3 hours of buirning in time, that the result was much better, when compared to the Full Music 300B, in every aspect. The noise level was much lower, you have to stand 20 cm from the speaker to realize that the amps are on. The soundstage was deeper and wider, the balance was much better. without the 'brightness' (with the bad meaning) of the FM, bass was much tighter and the instruments had a better natural presentation.   Beste mensen van Jacmusic, Binnen een week, na bestellen had ik ze al binnen, en prima verpakt. Nu na zo'n 20 uur inspelen valt er natuurlijk nog niet zoveel over te vertellen. Dit doe ik op de instellingen van een normale 300B op 75ma en een anodespanning 450v. Daarna schakel ik over naar de geadviseerde 100ma en 500v. Aan de geadviseerde 100uur inspelen zit ik zo omdat mijn versterker een normaal gebruiksartikel is, die elke dag wel 8 tot 12uur via de radio staat te spelen. Wat nu vooral opvalt, is het gemak, waarmee het geluid de boxen uitkomt. Verder vind ik de buizen erg mooi gemaakt en heel redelijk geprijsd, zeker als je het vergelijkt met KR buizen. Hoe het zit met de levenduur is een kwestie van afwachten, ik hoop enige jaren te kunnen genieten van deze top 300B's. Vriendelijke groet, Jack

  Hello Jac, Arrived safely this morning, customs charge is not too much, tubes all are fine. The 300B-XLS look very nice, I see what you have done with the added mica at the top, good move. The 45 I have to say surprised me, much has changed since the last version, the Anodes look different - a matte finish, the clips on top, the getter is different, but I think the filaments coming out visibly from the top of the Anodes is a very nice effect, I couldn't resist plugging it in for a minute - nice look. The tube really does clearly look significantly redesigned and quite a bit stronger build. Nice job, I'm glad I took 3 pairs. I'll listen to them later, I have a feeling it's going to be good. At any rate, I will forward your responses to my concerned customer. And I will continue to recommend the EML 45s as the 'top tube' for this wonderful amp (I simply love this combination!). Now, what we need, of course, are some good-quality, new-production 717As and type-80 rectifiers to keep Yamamoto owners from worrying too much. I waited a week to let you know because it took me a while to make up the mains cables from your new shielded cable. Quite tricky to fit the cable into our plugs in New Zealand but well worth it.   Hello Jac, The 45s arrived in good shape about 10 days ago. I have put about 70 hours on them playing music. Initially the sound was not pleasant, irritating highs and one note bass, but after about 50 hours-as your instructions predict-the sound filled out and became quite interesting. Bass does still not have the best harmonic structure but this may well yet improve. They are head and shoulders above the TJ mesh Anodes, not even the in the same league really. I certainly hope they will last in my Wavelength Venus and I will keep you posted either way. The adjustable hum level is .5mV which is the lowest I have recorded. Let us pray to the tube gods!   Hallo Jac, die neuen EML 300B habe ich ausprobiert und bin sehr zufrieden. Das Brummniveau liegt wesentlich niedriger als bei der Vorgängerversion, d. h. es lässt sich wirklich fast vollständig bis auf null regeln. Das liegt wohl an der einfach geschalteten Kathode. Das ist für mich als 'AC-Heizer' ja sehr, sehr wichtig. Ansonsten sind die Neuen ein kleines Stück offener im Klang. Aber immer noch deutlich mit dem Klang der EML-Familie. Jac, these NEW generation of 45's are incredible and I did not think you could make them any better but these are a delight very robust and clean and so on and so on and no on...KUDOS to the whole EML TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Mike Klementovich

Betreff: EML 45 tubes
  Was especially surprised by the size of these tubes thought you had sent 300B By mistake! Have about 10 hours on the burn-in, very happy with the sound, lively maybe more like a 2a3 and a 45 mixed together than what I Am used to from the Cunningham 345 this will probable change as they get more time on them. The most apparent thing is the bass WOW! Deep and solid tons of slam much more than any 45 I have heard.I can only think these will improve farther as they burn-in. Thanks -A happy customer, Cori.   Hei Jac! Takk for tilsendet 300B XLS og de andre rørene! Hvilken fryd å se 300 B XLS-rørene nnpakket med så mye omsorg i emballasjen. Hvilken enda større glede å kunne pakke dem ut. Deres form og innhold er en sann estetisk nytelse! Glaskolben gir samme følelse som et munnblåst ødvinsglas. Jeg ble overrasket over at rørene var så my større enn tradisjonelle 300B-rør. Mine forventninger ble også overtruffet når det gjelder klangen. Den var virkelig 'stor'. Denne kombinasjonen av distinkt 3-dimensjonalitet og klarhet samtidig som klangen fortsatt er full av varme og 'sprøhet'. Musikken 'hviler' i ørene og er aldri påtrengende eller røttende. Og hvilken dybde i klangbildet! Selvsagt er størrelsen viktig, også hos 300B-rør. De er nå en verdig partner til mine 845 rør. Begge har omtrent samme høyde. Jeg har bare oppdaget en eneste ulempe. Disse rørene er så forførerisk at man helst vil tilbringe mye, mye tid med dem. Dette har ført til at min kone ble sjalu og har truet med å knuse dem! Jeg skjelver ved tanken!!!! Welch eine Freude, die 300B XLS-Röhren mit so viel Sorgfalt eingepackt zu sehen. Ihre Form und der 'Inhalt' sind wahrhaftig ein ästhetischer Genuss. Der Glaskolben erinnert und gibt das gleiche Gefühl wie ein mundgeblasenes Rotweinglas. Ich war überrascht darüber, dass die Röhren so viel grösser als die gewöhnlichen 300B-Röhren waren. Meine Erwartungen wurden auch übertroffen was den Klang angeht. Der war wirklich 'gross'. Diese Kombination von distinkter 3-Dimensionalitet und Klarheit und gleichzeitig Wärme und sonorem Klang! Die Musik 'ruht' in den Ohren und wird nie aufdringlich oder ermüdend. Und welche Tiefe im Klangbild!!! Selbstverständlich spielt die Grösse ein Rolle, auch bei 300B-Röhren! Diese Röhren sind jetzt ein würdiger Partner für meine 845-Röhren. Beide haben ungefähr die gleiche Höhe. Ich habe nur einen Nachteil von diesen Röhren bisher entdeckt: Sie sind so verführerisch, dass man viel, viel Zeit mit ihnen verbringen möchte. Das hat schon dazu geführt, dass meine Frau eifersüchtig wurde und gedroht hat, die Röhre zu zerbrechen. Ich erzittere beim blossen Gedanken!!!!

  Hallo Jac! Eine kleine Rückmeldung: Die Röhren von Dir sind am Freitag wohlbehalten in Schweden angekommen und inzwischen schon 'warmgefahren' worden. Vielen Dank für die rasche Versendung und die sorgfältige Verpackung. Mein erster Eindruck ist sehr positiv und deutliche Verbesserung verglichen mit den alten Röhren. Sehr dynamischer Bass und sauberer Zwischentonbereich mit guter räumlicher Auflösung. Leider im Diskant recht scharfe S-Laute, die sich mit der Zeit etwas abgemildert haben, aber immer noch da sind. Beim Umzug vor einem Jahr ist eine von den original 300B Röhren zerbrochen, und ich habe sie damals mit Electro Harmonix 300B-EH-PL-G importiert aus den USA ersetzt (leider kannte ich Deine Firma noch nicht). Falls es mit Worten zu beschreiben ist, was (welche Verbesserung) könnte ich mir von den 300B XLS von Emission Labs ®versprechen? Tragen diese Röhren die Hauptverantwortung für den Treiberteil meiner Endstufen? Glaubst Du, daß auch etwas mit neuen 6N9P/6SL7 / 6N8P/6SN7 für das Klangbild herauszuholen wäre? Lege Information über meine Verstärker als PDF anbei. (Ich muß leider zugeben, daß ich für Röhrenverstärker eigentlich unmöglich zu betreibende Boxen habe (B&W Nautilus 801). Diese mit einem 28W Röhrenverstärker zu betreiben, mutet sicher verrückt an, doch ich hatte diese Boxen schon bevor ich mich zum ersten Mal 'auf den ersten Blick / Gehör' in Röhrenverstärker verliebt habe, und diese sich beim Hörtest ganz gut mit den Lautsprechern verstanden - bin ohnehin nicht an einem 'Extrembass' interessiert. Und von diesen Lautsprechern könnte ich mich ohnehin nicht trennen. Dann lieber eine komische 'Ehe' eingehen.) Nochmals, vielen Dank, und vielleicht hast Du Zeit, meine Fragen zu beantworten!?
